We just got the wonderful news that our dossier is on its way to China.. and probably arriving there right now since its Monday morning in China! We were DTC on 4/5/07!!
Now What?
We continue waiting!! We will wait for our paperwork to be logged in (Log-In Date or LID) and from then we will wait for our Letter of Acceptance (LOA). The LOA typically comes 3-4 months after your LID. It's a simple form that requires just a check mark (accepting the child) and your signature. Once it's sent back to China, your Travel Approval (or TA) comes about 2-3 weeks later. And then we travel!!
So we still have a 3-4 month wait ahead of us. Here are my predictions:
Let's say we are LID 4/20th.. (that would be about 15 days for LID which follows what recent LID's from our agency have been)
The current wait time for LOA's is 80-140 days after LID! So let's just say we get an LOA on 7/27.. which would be about 98 days. (We waited about 85 days for Esther's TA last year)
Then about 3 weeks later, we'd get a TA putting us at 8/17 (which means I can go on my Haiti trip.. just means I'll miss the first few weeks of school)
And then travel a few days later, putting us at the week of leaving 8/20-8/27..
So.. those are my current predictions.. we'll see what happens and how close I am to these dates! The best case scenario would be getting a TA at 80 days..and just maybe we would travel in late July. Or.. we could get TA at 140 days and then we'd be looking at travel in September and even October!! Yikes!!

Wow! That's not too bad of a wait! You don't sound like you are too heartbroken about missing school Sera! :)
One of the pastors at our church travelled to China to bring home their daughter two years ago this June... they are waiting on the infamous I171 for their son, a waiting child!! They are hoping to travel before December. How awesome??!!
Love the updates!
Lisa :)
How exciting !!
Glad you can go on your other trip !!
